The Concept

This club will specialize in top quality international cuisine, especially from those countries that have contributed to jazz. Additionally, based on the experience of prestigious jazz clubs, there would be live recordings of the different musical groups performing regularly, and the best tracks will be compiled in a CD that would go into the jazz market as a sample of what the Gumbo Jazz Club presents every night.

An enclosed private area of the club will operate as a smoking room for customers who wish to taste or smoke high-quality cigars. This would distinguish the Gumbo Jazz Club from its competitors, adding a VIP attraction hardly seen in San José, Costa Rica.

The music industry is a reflection of changes in the society where it operates. The Costa Rican society has experienced changes that have made it more advanced and sophisticated, prompting a complete change of people's tastes and demands. More and more people tend to seek entertainment features and services not satisfied by the current offers.

Mission.

The club will serve food and drinks of the highest quality in an effort to better satisfy the high-end demands of the customers. Plates and specialties will be available from the places where Jazz music has cultural roots.

Vision.

To become the market leader while seeking development and expansion opportunities. To position itself in the market as one of the best Jazz clubs in Latin America, gaining international recognition for the flavor and quality of the food served as well as the performances of the musicians featured.

Type of Business

This is a Jazz Club with the business characteristics of similar businesses existing in New York, where food and drinks served are integrated to the jazz culture and are presented in conjunction with live performances of jazz musicians. It belongs in the service sector, which includes enterprises whose primary element is the human ability to perform physical or intellectual work.

Objectives

• Short-term: Our objective is to fully satisfy all our customers in order to position the Jazz Club as one of the best cultural and service options in the city. To present a different and innovating offer to our customers.

• Mid-term: To accomplish this expanded concept within the Central American market, thus improving the quality of service and of musical performances while maintaining the classic aspect of a Jazz Club and achieving recognition and position in its field.

• Long term: To be recognized within the country and internationally for the quality of the musical performances linked to gastronomical service culture.
